Not only do the labels for craft beer & soda bottles need to have a great design, but they need to be the optimal type. Epsen Hillmer Graphics has been in the label industry since 1908. Based on our vast experience and always keeping up with the latest industry developments, there are two types of labels that we recommend for craft beer & soda bottles.
The two options we recommend are cut & stack labels, as well as pressure sensitive labels. Since both types of labels have their own unique strengths, we want to take a look at why they may be the best fit for your bottles.
Cut & stack labels are most commonly designed with a rectangular shape. While that shape can work great for bottles of various sizes, you may be interested in a custom shape for your bottles. If that’s the case, we have the technology required for doing custom die-cut shapes. Not only do cut & stack labels offer the ability for custom shapes, but the specific material can be chosen based on different moisture and temperature requirements.
Another reason that we recommend these labels is because regardless of the run size, cut & stack labels are very attractive in terms of cost. Thanks to the large size of our cut & stack press, we can offer especially appealing deals on labels that are done as part of a combination printing process.
The other option that we highly recommend for bottle applications like craft beer and soda is pressure sensitive labels. While these labels do have a higher cost than cut & stack labels, PSLs offer excellent value. One of the really appealing features of pressure sensitive labels is that they’re self-adhering. As a result, their application can be done by a machine or hand.
Pressure sensitive labels are also quite impressive in regards to their ability to deal with significant temperature fluctuations. And to top things off, it’s easy to ensure that PSLs have a stunning look. From high-quality graphics to add-on options like rotary screening, these labels offer all the visual elements needed to ensure that your bottles always stand out.
If both styles of labels sound good but you’re still not sure which one is the best choice for your bottles, the good news is you don’t have to choose on your own. At Epsen Hillmer Graphics, we’re always happy to help during any stage of the design or printing process.
